Field Rules - Apply to both Amarillo Balloon Park and Palo Duro Canyon
We are very happy you are joining us for the 2008 Amarillo Invitational Balloon Rally, Pirates of the Canyon. Pirates have a few rules that must be followed or you will be asked to leave the field.
  • NO SMOKING! Balloon and fuel is extremely flamible.
    Punishment will be handled by each Pirate, and they can be ruthless
  • Please watch for merging spectators and vehicles. We are all here to see each other and to put on a beautiful show. Please look out for oncoming traffic and vehicles moving about the Park Areas
  • Read All Signs and Notice Beacons. Last minute changes will be made according to weather and conditions. Please take notice of all signs posted. Also, ther will be a weather beacon for your convenience.
    • Green Light - Conditions are favorable for flight
    • Yellow Light - Conditions are slightly higher than desirable. Pilot descretion is advised.
    • Red Light - Conditions are not favorable for flight. Pilots are ask to please stay on the ground.
    In the event of incliment weather, other forms of entertainment will be provided.
  • Do Not Step on Balloon or near balloons.
    Pirates have promised not to walk on you if you stand clear
  • Stay clear of All Ropes
    Pirates do not like to hang around and really do not want you to by accident
  • Have Fun!
    and if your not, wait till we break out the Rum!
